Frank Bernstein was a record-holding blood donor — rolling up his sleeves 532 times over four decades to give to Canadian Blood Services. 

His son Neil had always planned to go with his father, but never managed to make it, and his father died in July 2011 after battling cancer.

Bernstein and a group of his friends were at the Vancouver donor clinic on Oak Street on Wednesday to make another life-saving gift and to extend their donation campaign for another year.
